DMSC’s media was the major factor in Mike Dunleavey’s upset victory in Alaska. It was the GOP’s only 2018 governor pick-up. DMSC’s other upsets wins include Matt Bevin/Kentucky (2015), a blue state victory for Charlie Baker/Massachusetts and victories in purple states for Pat McCrory/North Carolina, Doug Ducey/Arizona and Bob McDonnell/Virginia.
